Let Every Student…
consider well the main end of his life and studies is to know God and Jesus Christ which is eternal life, John 17:3, and therefore to lay Christ in the bottom, as the only foundation of all sound knowledge and learning. Seeing the Lord giveth wisdom, everyone shall seriously by prayer, in secret, seek wisdom of Him.

Workshops 1, 2-3:30 pm 1A.
Culture-Making
Andy Crouch
Many Christians settle for condemning culture.
Others mostly consume culture. But how can we
become people who contribute to culture - who both
tend what is already good in our society and create
new culture that contributes to human flourishing?
We will discuss how "culture making" is central to
the biblical vision of human beings, and what it
means to be faithful creators of culture in the places
we live, work, play, and worship.
1B.
Loving Secular America
Dave Schmelzer
Many Westerners are experiencing a transition in how
we experience faith. Some very clear-cut expressions
of faith that made a lot of sense to us just a few years
back are not working so well now. What does Jesus
mean to my most disinterested & secular friends?
How can I speak with them? How can I even
understand secular culture and their spiritual
development within that culture? Come listen and
dialogue with Dave Schmelzer whose church has
specialized in just such questions
But with the demands of
career, children, media, and busyness, how do we build our marriages? This workshop will be a panel discussion.
Come share your struggles and your solutions!

When God (or the devil) Throws you
a Curveball: Persevering in Suffering,
Disappointment & Failure
Jocelyn Scribano Bill Stuntz Will Messenger Tara Edelschick Tim Dalrymple (Moderator)
Suffering and the response to suffering is an essential part of the Christian life. Suffering comes to us all in time; what is important are
the decisions we make in the midst of suffering, suffering with Christ, learning from Christ and continuing to live in faith. Come interact
with our panel, as they discuss what suffering has meant in their lives, how it has shaped them, and what they've learned.
Workshops 2, 4-5:30 pm 2A.

I'm Tired and My Faith is Dry
Barry & Linda Rowan
Without our realizing it, the performance-based ways of this world seem to seep into our souls, wringing the spiritual vitality out of us. The only source of restoration is God himself. But, how do we go from talking about him to experiencing him; from performing for him to knowing him? Beginning with surrender and ending in meaning and joy in the present moment, we will discuss the genius of God's design--that he accomplishes his work in the world and in our souls simultaneously, and he does it through the ordinary experiences of our lives.

Raising a Missional Family
Scott MacLean
&
Kathy Tuan MacLean Katie Smith Milway Tara Edelschick (Moderator)
& Jeff Barneson
Maybe you knew how to live for and with God when you were single. Maybe you dreamed big dreams of how God might use you in the world. And then you got married. And then you had kids. Now what? How does your family walk with God in the midst of potty training and ballet lessons and a culture that worships so much that is not of God? How can God's good news for the widow, the orphan, the pagan across the world, and the pagan across the street have any place in your family's life? How does God want to shape, use, and bless your family? Join several families who think about these questions and who have experienced God's creativity and blessing as they work out how to be part of God's mission AS A FAMILY.
